We have received a official press note from Sony inviting us to its 'biggest launch for this year' to be held on March 6 in New Delhi. This pretty much puts an end to the speculation surrounding the arrival of Sony's flagship device, Xperia Z to India.

According to a latest news report the high-end smartphone has gotten off to a good start since its launch in European markets, selling out in less than 2 hours in some countries. A quick glance at its tempting specs and you know what is contributing to its soaring sales.

The beautifully crafted device features a 5-inch 1080p display and uses a  Android 4.1 OS and quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The water resistant smartphone also brings on board HDR video capabilities and 12-megapixel Exmor RS camera under its hood.

There has been no official word on its pricing yet, but going by how its rivals have been priced, you can be sure that this pretty baby will land in the hands of those with big wallets. We are predicting a price range of Rs 40,000 - Rs 42,000, anything else shall be a pleasant surprise.

The device will compete in the market with HTC Butterfly, BlackBerry Z10, LG Optimus G and upcoming Galaxy S4. The battle for smartphone supremacy has already started heating up this year and with every Android giant aiming for a top spot this year, we can be assured some incredibly power-packed devices this year.

The company will also be revealing its most ambitious marketing campaign till date with its flagship device, Xperia Z. The RnM reports that the campaign 'will be deployed globally in over 20 markets across TV, print, digital, out-of-home and retail from March 2013.' The campaign as expected will put spotlight on Sony's innovative technologies present on its premium Xperia Z smartphone.
